Our Non-Profit Mission

The Sawdust Chronicles (TSDC) is a podcast defined by its dedication to educating beginning woodworkers, the only resources at the podcast’s disposal are donations.  Several woodworking related companies and fellow woodworkers  (listed below) have in some way donated their time and/or products to make TSDC successful.

Following our 2009 Spring Build Challenge, TSDC began a more interactive endeavor.  TSDC will be seeking donations from lumber suppliers, saw mills, tool manufacturers and home centers in order to give instructional time and materials to organizations seeking hands-on demonstrations and tutorials.

Specifically we’ve begun getting actively involved with local youth organizations such as the Boy/Girl/Cub Scouts, Park District programs, grade schools, 4-H Youth Development Programs, etc.  Instruction, materials, plans and the temporary use of tools will all be available to these types of organizations.

The Sawdust Chronicles accepts donations of all kinds.  Please contact us if you would like to make a donation, or if you have a lead for a woodworking related company that may be interested in donating.

Non-profit Status: Currently The Sawdust Chronicles is not a legally existing non-profit entity. This does not mean that TSDC is not pursuing such a status. We currently lack the funds to register. When we have the funds to legally register as a non-profit in Illinois, it will be the first thing we do. Please be patient with us as we are trying to save up for this registration.
